Recommended Websites Muscle Car Facts Muscle car is a term used to refer to American and Australian car models and a wide variety of high performance automobiles. This type of car is usually a 2-door rear wheel drive mid-size car with a large, powerful V8 engine and lots of power, modest weight, and blazing acceleration, intended for maximum torque on the street or in drag racing competition. Muscle cars have always been special driving machines that started to become popular from 1960's to 1970's. The muscle car was introduced in the mass market in 1960 but nearly vanished. They only came back in the early '80s and began an exciting new high performance era that's still going strong until today. The term muscle car is not common usage until after production of the cars had essentially ended and accepted due to its popularity. During its popularity, media also referred it as "super cars." And just like any other old things, most muscle cars today are getting more and more expensive. Many car enthusiasts are collecting and restoring these vintage cars that are easy to repair or modify. Loud, proud, rude and crude - these are some of the characteristics of muscle cars. The first classic muscle cars is the Pontiac GTO. The usual factors of a muscle car are based from this kind model. Pontiac was followed by Ford known from their Mustang. Mustang changed everything you want in a car. Until now, Mustang muscle cars are very popular among vintage cae enthusiasts for their good performance, great looks, and affordable price. Later on, lots of other muscle cars model were introduced. The success soon caught on and the explosion began into the golden age muscle cars. The only muscle car from the era that is still surviving is the Ford Mustang, which was made popular from the movie "Gone in 60 Seconds." Automotive
